Sheila MacNamara

Sheila MacNamara

Sheila was only a member of Orangeville Chorus for a short while. She worked in the Dufferin County education system and joined due to her connection with Joan Borden and others in the school system.

She had a Scottish background, a friendly nature and connected well with everyone.

Unfortunately, after just a brief time with the chorus, Sheila became terminally ill and passed away after a struggle with cancer. She was never able to compete with the chorus.

The Chorus was asked to sing at Sheila's funeral service, and it was a most moving experience. The service was taped to be sent to her family in Scotland who were unable to be present and the chorus members were very honoured to be part of a wonderful tribute to her life.

Sheila so enjoyed being a Sweet Adeline and although she was not with the chorus for a long time, she certainly had a good time while she was there.
