 Doreen Beverley Gariepy (Parkes) Dec. 5, 1937-Sept. 23, 2021

Wife of the late Kenneth A. Gariepy Q.C. Doreen is survived by her children Catharine Marie Mclean and Donald Edward Woods.

Devoted loving mother to her two children affectionately known as "Cathy and Donny" the devilish Irish Twins! She was the "cool" mom to her children's friends. She had a warm heart and time for everyone. Her children first and she was very proud of their accomplishments.

She was an animal lover always making sure the birds and deer were fed. There was always a dog or two in the house.

Doreen had a life-long passion for singing and entertaining. As a girl she was a member of the church choir and travelled by cruise line to the UK to entertain abroad. She continued her passion as an adult and join the Orangeville Chapter of Sweet Adeline's international. She was president for a term and also served as a board member. When the chorus travelled to New Zealand to establish a chapter there,  Doreen was one of the first to sign up. She encouraged her daughter to follow in her footsteps. She was a proud mother the day her daughter joined her in the front row.

She loved to entertain; everyone was welcome in her home. She was a great cook and baker. Doreen took home first prize multiple years in a row with the Orangeville Fall Festival for her famous pies.

After she retired from the North York Board of Education she worked as a Court Clerk for the Ontario Government - Assessment Review Court. Doreen also served on the Orangeville Town Council Board.

She will be sincerely missed by her children, family and friends.

May she rest in eternal peace!
